Better Water, Inc. Develops National Disaster Plan for Water Treatment

Better Water, Inc, the leading designer and manufacturer of water equipment for dialysis, has developed a nation-wide Water Response Action Plan (W.R.A.P.) for natural disasters and additional emergency situations, where water treatment for dialysis patients would be affected.

“The ability of a dialysis facility to respond quickly and sufficiently, to a disaster depends on the preparedness and cooperative efforts within the industry”, states Tamara Lujan, Sales Manager for Better Water, Inc and coordinator of the W.R.A.P. program.

“The goal of our disaster program is to assist facilities nation wide, in quickly resuming operations, while providing AAMI quality water” said Lujan “ The key factor in our ability to offer this program is Better Water’s commitment to the dialysis community. Our combination of innovative equipment, service, and support is the basis of the W.R.A.P. program.”

The W.R.A.P. program includes the following elements:

• Tankers of potable water
• Containers for potable water & fittings packages
• D.I. Tanks
• Temporary D.I. Skids
• Portable RO units & accessories
• Mobile Skidded water systems
• Pre-established internal and external communication guidelines
• Plan for both projected and non-projected disasters

Better Water has networked nationally with vendors to supply potable water and tankers for transporting. This will aid in quick response times.

“ Our program is unique, dialysis facilities can make one call and order potable water, water storage units, water equipment, supplies and service” states Lujan. “ In addition, to the equipment and supplies, dialysis facilities will have the experienced Better Water team available to answer questions and provide support. All of this allows Better Water to respond quickly and effectively in assisting the dialysis provider, during an emergency ”
